Amaze on the Road: Connections, Community, and the Future of Hospitality
The past few weeks have been a busy and rewarding time for the Amaze team as we connected with hospitality leaders, customers, partners, and innovators at three of the industry's premier events: Hospitality Creator Summit (HCS), HSMAI Commercial Strategy Conference, and HITEC 2026.
While each event had a different focus, a common theme emerged across every conversation: hospitality remains a relationship business.
Hospitality Creator Summit: Influence Is Becoming a Competitive Advantage
At Hospitality Creator Summit, Nick Horgan joined industry leaders, creators, and innovators to explore how thought leadership, content creation, and personal brands are shaping the future of hospitality.
Nick moderated a panel featuring Erin Jones-Wesley and Nat Estis Green titled The Future of Creating. The discussion explored how creators are adapting to an increasingly digital and AI-driven landscape while maintaining the authenticity that makes their content valuable.
Insight #1: The Future of Creating Is About Scale Without Losing Authenticity
One practical takeaway was the growing use of "farm clicks" strategies, where creators repurpose long-form content into multiple short-form assets to expand reach and maximize the value of every piece of content. As hospitality brands continue investing in thought leadership, the conversation reinforced that technology can amplify a creator's voice, but authenticity remains the foundation of trust.
Insight #2: Connections Create Opportunity
Nick also took the stage to share a message that resonated throughout the event: the most valuable people in any room are often those who create connections between others. His session reinforced the idea that meaningful relationships are built by intentionally bringing people together, sharing opportunities, and helping others succeed. Attendees left with a powerful takeaway: everyone has the opportunity to become the most valuable person in the room simply by creating meaningful connections.
HSMAI Commercial Strategy: The New Reality of Hotel Commercial Teams
The Amaze team, including Jaime Job, Nick Horgan, Lindy Soukdavong, and Jeff Sears, joined hospitality commercial leaders at HSMAI Commercial Strategy to discuss the trends reshaping hotel performance.
Three themes surfaced repeatedly throughout the conference:
Insight #1: Commercial Teams Continue to Converge
Sales, marketing, revenue management, and distribution are becoming increasingly interconnected. As these functions align, hotel sales and catering teams are being asked to think beyond bookings and production metrics to understand their impact on overall commercial performance.
Insight #2: Data Is Only Valuable If It Drives Action
Commercial leaders agreed that access to data is no longer the challenge. The real challenge is knowing where to focus, which opportunities deserve attention, and how to make faster, more confident decisions. The conversation is shifting from reporting to actionable intelligence.
Insight #3: Success Comes From Prioritizing the Right Opportunities
For group sales and catering teams, success is no longer about managing more opportunities. It's about identifying the right ones. From lead qualification and conversion potential to meeting space optimization, organizations are placing greater emphasis on focusing resources where they can drive the greatest business impact.
HITEC 2026: From Automation to Intelligence
At HITEC, Jaime Job, Nick Horgan, Jeff Sears, and Mike Kennie joined thousands of hospitality technology professionals to explore the innovations shaping the future of the industry.
Nick shared insights on optimizing professional networks and building a personal brand in today's increasingly connected hospitality landscape. His session reinforced an important reality: strong relationships remain one of the most valuable competitive advantages for both individuals and organizations.
Two themes stood out throughout the event:
Insight #1: Hospitality Is Moving From Automation to Intelligence
The industry conversation has evolved beyond simply automating tasks and digitizing processes. Hospitality leaders are increasingly focused on how technology can help teams make better decisions, prioritize opportunities, and create more personalized experiences.
Insight #2: Connected Data Is Becoming the Foundation for Better Decisions
Technology leaders repeatedly emphasized that AI is only as valuable as the data behind it. The focus is shifting from collecting more information to connecting existing data across systems, creating a foundation for better visibility, stronger decision-making, and improved business outcomes.
One Industry, One Common Thread
Across HCS, HSMAI, and HITEC, the conversations may have varied, but the underlying message remained the same.
Technology matters. Data matters. Commercial strategy matters.
But hospitality has always been, and will continue to be, a people business.
